William Stanley Braithwaite papers, 1904-1932.

Letters, 1923-1932, to Braithwaite, chiefly from North Carolina poets concerning publication of their work. Poets represented are Ruth Vail, Florrie Jean Lightfoot, Kate Downing Ghent, Charlotte Young, and James Larkin Pearson. Also included is a notebook, ca. 1904, containing three pages written by Braithwaite discussing the difficulty of getting a volume of poems published without a financial guarantee and requesting advance subscriptions of $1.00 per copy for his "Lyrics of Life and Love" (1904). These pages are followed by six pages with subscribers' names.
